Prefixes Used in Medicine

Learning prefixes used in medicine needn't be that difficult. Let's try to think outside the box and see if we can't come up with some new ways to learn them.

Now, most prefixes used in medicine come from either the Greek or Latin languages.

Too bad we can't go back in time to when those languages were prevalent and learn what the prefixes mean and how they are (were) used.

Oh well, I guess that means we'll have to learn the prefixes used in medicine with some other method.

As noted on another page of this site (medical prefixes at the left) using a song could make learning these prefixes easier.

Here, though, I'd like to present another idea that I think could prove useful to those learning prefixes used in medicine.

What method is that, you ask?

FLASHCARDS

Yes, that's right, flashcards. Simply take the alphabetical lists that are found on this site and print them out making yourself a set of flashcards containing these prefixes.

Yes, it involves a little bit of work on your part, but the time spent making them will pay off for you in that you'll save time learning them.
